An Assisted Living Community is a licensed community that provides accommodation and care for seniors, generally housing 50 or more residents. Assisted Living Communities are licensed as an RCFE (Residential Care For the Elderly) and may market themselves under titles such as “Senior Care Community”. This section also includes Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC), that have graduating types of care as needs increase; also, smaller residences known as board and care homes.
